When our team was tasked with redesigning the door panel of a Dodge Journey, we realised a common problem early on – that there was no convenient place for people to put their things such as phones, wallets, keys, etc. As a result, these objects would end up in the cup holders or on the passenger seat.
We wanted to create areas in the door panel that people would want to put their stuff in and could free up the other space for what it is intended for.
The goal was to create areas that were more attractive and functional than the usual spot.
We came up with four innovative storage concepts to free up space.
